A space for people, for yoga and for community

Yoga is for everyone and whilst it is steeped in deep and enlightening history the philosophy and ancient teachings are not for everyone, and you do not need to be a Yogi or Yogini to reap the benefits of this self-care practice. Yoga offers physical and mental health benefits to people of all ages and abilities.

Our Vision at Tranquility Yoga is to open a space where yoga becomes truly available to everyone. Where in joining us on your mat you too could start to understand and feel the benefits yoga brings - who knows you may also want to go on and explore further this ancient practice.

If for any reason you need support accessing any of our classes then please do speak to us and don’t let life get in the way of self-care.

Our people

Set up by friends, and owned by Amanda Tucker, Tranquility Yoga is a community space where those who want to come together to support each other through Yoga practice and much more, share space, learning and friendship.

Tranquility is a community space for practitioners and teachers and we are delighted to offer a range of practises delivered by a range of regular teachers.

We are also blessed to have amazing visiting teachers and practitioners offering a range of workshops, events retreats and study days.

  • Having been diagnosed at 40 with an incurable and degenerative inflammatory disease, in my fifties I was noticing my condition worsening.

Holding down a full time job I sought yoga in the hope it might help me become more mobile. I was hopeful that in doing so, that the most basic of tasks, such as turning over in bed, would be more accessible.

Yoga showed me so much and 4 years after my first visit to Claire McLellan’s classes I am now a qualified yoga teacher having completed my 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training under the expert tutelage of Lucy Lesley at Sussex Yoga Training.

I have also completed a 50 hour Vinyasa Flow CPD accredited course.

  • Senior Teacher

Jude is a Scot, now living and working in East Sussex. She is a Senior Yoga Teacher who has been teaching for 20 years, and practising for over 30. She is also a qualified complementary therapist, interfaith and lay minister, and spiritual counsellor with advanced training in anatomy and physiology. For 12 years she has specialised in Yoga for Cancer and other life-limiting illness and trains other yoga teachers to offer this work. She follows the ancient Celtic calendar and creates beautiful seasonal yoga worships to honour the flow of the seasons. She returns to yoga to teaching after two years of working full-time in hospice and palliative care, and having recovered from a serious injury. Her own practice has been her rehabilitation, and she brings this depth of knowledge into her teaching practice.

Sammie Venn
  • Sammie is a Qoya teacher, a practice that embraces our wise, wild and free woman through soulful movement and meditation as medicine. One of a handful of teachers in the UK, Qoya helps you to spiral inward, to release, relax and receive. Sammie is also a reiki practitioner, yoga nidra facilitator, writer and poet, she incorporates these various modalities into her work, offering something unique and freeing.

  • I’ve been practicing yoga for over 20 years. After various non yoga related injuries and operations, including neck, back, shoulder and hips, I’ve had to learn to adapt to my changing body. Yoga has been a constant help. These changes meant modifying my Yoga, working with props and going back to basics after years of developing my practice. I was amazed by how much could be gained from a supportive style of Yoga teaching and practice and I continue to learn how to be kind to the body to get the best from it. That’s what drew me to teaching Yoga and helping others of all abilities to learn from the benefits it can bring.

Spiral Yoga Shelly
  • My personal journey with Yoga started in 1999, whilst on a silent Vipasana meditation retreat in Thailand. I wasn't really sure what I had signed up for, partaking in a silent 10 day meditation retreat, with no previous meditation experience, and I didn't realise at the time what an impact it would have on my life and future. We practised yoga daily and I immediately felt a deep resonation. The seed had been planted & over the years my yoga practice grew. I undertook my 200 RYT Teacher Training with the Ananda Vedanta Ashram in 2010.

I have since studied with some wonderful teachers, and have undertaken trainings in Yin yoga, Restorative yoga, Yoga for Menopause as well as Pregnancy/Post natal yoga and Children’s yoga.

My interests lie in the therapeutics of yoga; how yoga can heal, support and transform us, becoming part of who we are rather than something we do.

We all have an abundance of wisdom, beauty and clarity within ourselves. All we ever need, we already own. By connecting to ourselves, we open the gateway within.

I always feel very honoured to be a part of your yoga journey.

  • Natalie has been practicing yoga for over 10 years but realised it’s importance to her life when she broke her dominant hand in 2021. On recovery, Natalie started her 200 hour yoga teacher training to deepen her knowledge and to be able to share the gift of yoga with others.

Natalie teaches dynamic vinyasa flow yoga. Sequenced poses that flow from one to the next with seamless transitions to build both strength and flexibility in body and mind. Her classes incorporate meditation, pranayama (breath practice), core cultivation and both standing and seated flow sequences. Classes are accessible for all levels.

Natalie has been a special needs teacher in a special college for the last 12 years, teaching life skills and has recently been able to combine my two passions by bringing yoga to these very special young people I work with.

  • I have been studying and practising different complementary health modalities for over 20 years. Initially I saw clients while working as a nurse until I decided to work full time as a Vibrational Healer combining all my skill set using Kinesiology to determine the most important issue to help rebalance client’s bodies.

My love for sound healing started many years ago. Watching clients relaxing and allowing sound to penetrate them, lifting their emotions and rejuvenating them. We all have felt how sound can uplift us and make us feel better, and there is science to back this up now.

I run regular Meditation Sound baths using Planetary gongs, Singing bowls, Chimes and more, as well as running Reiki drum journeying. These are perfect for individuals just wanting to relax and also forward-thinking corporate clients wanting to brainstorm at a higher brainwave state. I am so excited to be working in such a beautiful place and look forward to meeting you there.

  • Having practised Vinyasa Flow for a number of years I decided to explore the option of teacher training and found that I was called to teach Vinyasa Flow in a slow and mindful way.

Following completing my teacher training with Lucy Leslie of Sussex Yoga I am delighted to be joining Tranquility Yoga
